New research has found 60 per cent of business to business (B2B) marketers plan to increase their spending next year and most plan to up their online marketing budget.

A study on marketing priorities conducted by BtoB magazine found 79 per cent of marketers intend to budget more for online projects next year, compared to the 75.6 per cent questioned last year who said they intended to boost online spending during 2007.

The research found 74 per cent of marketers intend to develop their websites further in 2008, 64 per cent want to increase their search engine marketing and 26 per cent are keen to utilise social media.

BtoB magazine has previously urged marketers to make their online marketing strategy relevant to customers seeking information.

Penry Price, vice-president North America at Google, recently told the publication: "Millions of people are searching for B2B-related information, and B2B companies need to be there when those potential customers 'raise their hands' for that information."
