Creating effective affiliate incentives can be an important part of business marketing campaigns; however, what is the best way to increase the number of affiliates?
Owen Hewitson of Affiliate Window, writing for Econsultancy, comments that competition for affiliates is increasing and as such businesses need to offer something more unique in order to get ahead.
He suggests that, when planning affiliate incentives, businesses need to have clear ideas of what they are looking achieve.
It is also good practice to deliver simple and concise information for prospective partners, as well as ensuring that the scheme allows as many affiliates as possible to participate.
The most effective offers, he suggests, are those which reward affiliates with something that cannot be bought, such as exclusive tickets.
"A well thought-out incentive will grab their attention and engage them creatively at the most lucrative time of year," Mr Hewitson comments.
Recently, Meghan Keane of Econsultancy suggested that 2010 could be the biggest year so far for online advertising spending.
