Mobiel image SEO is becoming more important, according to experts

Last year's launch of the Google Goggles visual search tool may mean that online marketing professionals need to focus more on mobile image optimisation.
This is according to Laurie Sullivan of MediaPost's Search Blog, who explains that utilising image-based search engine optimisation (SEO) tactics could do much to attract traffic from those who use the application.
Unveiled in December, Google Goggles lets users take pictures of an object and search for data about the item.
As such, the most important element of mobile image SEO is harnessing metadata, Resolution Media's Bryson Meunier tells the Search Blog, while Will Critchlow of Distilled says making the picture itself stand out is also crucial.
"Image optimisation would help with mobile visual search because it gives search engines more information about the image so they can return it when a person queries the topic," Ms Sullivan comments.
A recent study by the European Interactive Advertising Association showed that 71 million people in Europe now access the mobile web at least once a week, spending an average of one hour a day browsing the internet via their phones.
