Mobile marketing will take off in Europe next year, according to a new report.
Investment bank GP Bullhound predicted that growth in the digital media sector will be positive in 2009, driven by increased interest in the mobile medium.
It said that the success of the application development platform for the iPhone had resulted in significant changes within the mobile sector, UTalkMarketing reports.
This is "materially improving the business model for mobile software developers and internet companies wanting to target the fourth screen", GP Bullhound partner Manish Madhvani remarked.
The expert added that next year will also see digital publishing take a new turn, with some companies set to launch "innovative" offerings that allow web users to buy the products and services they read about.
Online marketing firm ZenithOptimedia predicted in a recent forecast that the global internet advertising sector will see double-digit growth next year, while the overall ad sector will experience a drop in revenues.
