The widespread growth and marketing potential of blogs make them one of the "best things" to ever happen to smaller firms, an expert has claimed.

Chris Baggot, cofounder and chief executive officer of Compendium Blogware, made his comments while announcing an upcoming webinar event on the importance of blogging for search engine optimisation and client acquisition.

In a similar way to email marketing, blogging acts as a "great equaliser", he stated.

"Successful marketing isn't about having the biggest budget on the planet. It's about being found in the right places, providing a human face and voice to your organisation and converting visitors into customers," Mr Baggot explained.

According to search engine marketing agency AccuraCast, the greatest aspect of blog marketing is the viral effect some posts can have.

It states that news can travel very quickly as third-party bloggers begin to discuss stories and spread the word, often at very little cost to the marketer.ADNFCR-1351-ID-18539390-ADNFCR
