Search engines want to offer their users the biggest and most popular website when they search for a word or phrase, making the internet an ever more competitive platform, it has been claimed.
John Kitts, a sales manager for
Social Media Systems, made his comments to online resource
RISMedia, noting that websites which grow their content regularly have an advantage over others when it comes to securing high rankings.
"As more and more websites become dynamic content generation machines, competition in terms of size increases," he remarked.
Sites which hope to compete online and penetrate the first page of results must increase the amount of content they offer, Mr Kitts concluded.
Recently, small business advice agency
Strategy Consulting highlighted that search engines want to supply their users with high quality content which is relevant to their search request.
It recommended that firms consider adding articles, blogs and newsletters to their pages in order to grow the relevant content they supply.
