Create content for consumers 'not search engines'

When creating content designed to increase a website's search engine optimisation, it is vital to remember that people and not just search portals will be accessing it, an expert has stated.

Industry commentator Mark Glaser, writing for the MediaShift blog, explained that many marketers fail to consider the consumer when writing articles and assembling information for their website.

"People are the real reason you are doing what you do and they are more apt to return and become loyal readers if the writing suits them," he continued.

Furthermore, good content can increase the number of inbound links a website contains which can increase its value in the eyes of the search engines, Mr Glaser stated.

This can be especially important for new websites wanting to quickly become visible, he added.

Online resource SEO Book notes that there is a constant increase in the number of people writing specialist content for the web, meaning there is considerable competition for readers and high rankings.

It adds that this makes it vital that websites create good and useful content.ADNFCR-1351-ID-18576359-ADNFCR
