Good content 'key to good websites'

Good websites cannot simply rely upon impressive design features, they must also contain useful content, an expert has urged.
Justin Cooke, managing director of
Fortune Cookie, remarked that over recent years, there has been a considerable focus on the design of pages and that the copy they display has been overlooked.
However, content is an important aspect of helping the website connect with the user and presenting the company consistently, he continued.
Mr Cooke explained that when looking at a firm's page, he assesses "copy usability - to make sure that the copy on the website is written in plain language, that it is searchable and that it is on-brand".
Last year, Andrew Seidel, search engine placement specialist for
Quantum Web Solutions, told online resource Gateway InfoTech that almost all websites need strong content throughout their pages if they hope to increase sales.
He suggested that writing articles, hints and industry tips is one useful way of building such information as this establishes the firm's credibility in the eyes of consumers, as well as boosting its rankings within search engine results.
