Google News exposure 'needs quality content'

Having good quality news content which is optimised for search engines on a website makes it more likely it will be featured on Google News, an expert has asserted.

Industry commentator Atkinson David made his statement in an article for the American Chronicle, acknowledging that it can be difficult to persuade the search portal giant to use a website as a news source.

This means a professional is best suited to the task of creating content Google will deem suitable, he continued.

Mr David highlighted that the benefits of Google News exposure include potential high rankings on other major search engines and an influx of visitors to the website through the news article.

It can also "impress clients and warn competitors that you mean business", he added.

Recently, Patrick Altoft, managing director of search engine optimisation firm Branded3 Search, suggested in an article for E-consultancy that the benefits of publishing news include increased traffic, links, branding and rankings.ADNFCR-1351-ID-18526506-ADNFCR
