The use of
news articles in
search engine optimisation (
SEO) campaigns will increase over the course of 2009, it has been predicted.
According to Jorn and Price Marketing,
SEO professionals will focus more on offering quality content this year through
blogs and
article marketing to
online news sites and
bloggers.
This will represent "one of the best ways for site owners to cut through the clutter of search results and target prospective clients directly", the agency said.
The company also predicted that usage of
RSS feeds will rise "dramatically" in 2009, as web users become more choosy and knowledgeable about the type of online information they want to read.
Jorn and Price Marketing said that it is likely more consumers subscribe to a particular company's
RSS feed than their
email marketing list.
According to Razorfish's 2008 Feed report, 52 per cent of consumers regularly use
RSS feeds, while a similar proportion have used social bookmarking services like Delicious.
