It is vital that start-up businesses publicise their presence online using tactics such as link building, article marketing, newsletters and website growth, a small firm advice portal has stated.
Online resource
Bytestart suggested that when creating content for such marketing exercises, firms which lack a talented or trained writer consider paying a professional to provide the copy.
Furthermore, it warned that when sending marketing messages, businesses must make it easy for recipients to opt-out of future communications and urged them to use "excellent content" to keep their audience happy.
Investing time in growing a website can also boost a company's search engine rankings, Bytestart continued.
The resource urged: "Start a blog, add articles, encourage discussion. Google loves a website that's updated regularly and constantly adds new content, so don't let it down!"
Such methods do require time and investment into a website but a
recent article posted by Bytestart warned developers not to be tempted into employing black-hat search engine optimisation tactics.
It noted that these methods could result in websites being banned from the results of search engines such as Google, which could be catastrophic for a firm's online presence.
