Search engine spider bait

RSS feeds: Content boosts traffic

An increasing number of businesses are recognising that RSS feeds can be a useful way of driving traffic to a site, an expert has asserted.

Jivinder Sabherwal, writing for FreeEarningTips.com, suggested that content such as news, product information updates and summaries of blogs can all help encourage people to visit a website.

Furthermore, by filling a business' pages with updated and relevant information, a firm can find itself ranked increasingly highly within search engine results, he noted.

"This content acts as natural search engine spider bait which they will fill their little tummies on and come back for more every day. Their appetite for fresh content keeps your rankings up," Mr Sabherwal explained.

Search engine optimisation firm SEO Design Solutions claims that a website which contains "world class content" will always receive quality inbound links from RSS feeds.

It notes that the web is filled with people hunting interesting and useful content to share through email, via their blogs and through other social networking means.
