Email, search engine optimisation (SEO), paid search and online media buying should be at the heart of any internet marketing campaign, it has been claimed.
According to the latest
blog post on StraightUp Search, by using these four methods in conjunction with one another, firms can get the most out of their
online marketing strategies, which are becoming an "increasingly important" part of advertising budgets.
"Plan, plan and then plan some more. Preparation will be the key to your success in 2009," the website advised.
"Now more than ever, budgeting your marketing dollars is a critical aspect of the planning process."
The advice may be of particular interest to the pharmaceutical industry, which - according to a recent study by MarketBridge and Pharmaceutical Executive magazine - is planning to spend more money on
internet marketing over the next 12 months.
Figures from the Internet Advertising Bureau show that £981 million was spent on search engine marketing alone during the first six months of 2008.
