Online video advertising 'on the rise'

More firms are looking into the benefits of online video advertising as part of their internet marketing campaigns, according to one expert.

Jamie Estrin, managing director of Web TV Enterprise, says his company has seen continuing growth in this area in the last few quarters - despite the fact that seasonal dips occur in advertising all the time.

He explains that online video advertising is becoming more popular as brands push out free content to users who do not expect to pay for videos on the web.

"Engaging with web video allows people to be presenting brands that the right audience are happy to be engaging with," Mr Estrin comments.

"That's a huge element of the web video landscape."

Tobi Elkin of eMarketer recently said in the research company's Consumer Packaged Goods Sector Taps Into Online Video report that web video not only assists brands in encouraging ongoing dialogue with customers, but also helps to boost brand equity, attract prospective customers and strengthen support from those already loyal to the brand.
