Online marketers have been given a number of tips in what not to do in a search engine optimisation (SEO) strategy by a sector commentator from Yahoo!.

In a post on the company's Search Marketing blog, Noah Belson, content quality analyst at the organisation, urges webmasters to never produce web resource with inappropriate, redundant, deceptive or poor-quality content.

He explains this is due to the fact that Yahoo! only tries to show adverts which lead to information valuable to users.

"Don't write titles and descriptions that are confusing, misleading or too subjective. Try to create concise titles and descriptions that accurately describe your site and give users a precise idea of what they'll find there," Mr Belson continues.

Concluding, he notes avoiding such pitfalls can save time and effort later in time and also help firms to see a better return on their investment.

In other news, an article on web resource Marketing Sherpa recently suggested that blogs should contain heartfelt content and be updated regularly if they are to be effectively implemented.ADNFCR-1351-ID-18773177-ADNFCR
