A number of new functions have been added to Google Analytics, the search engine company has announced.
"Enterprise-class" features now included on the web service include custom reports, advanced segmentation, an updated interface and integration with Google AdSense, the firm said at the recent eMetrics Summit in Washington DC.
Multi-dimensional data visualisations called Motion Charts are also part of the upgrade, allowing users to select metrics for the x-axis and y-axis - as well as a number of other tools - and then see how they interact over time.
Jeff Campbell, co-founder and vice-president of product development at search marketing agency Resolution Media, said: "It's a full-service tool that is still easy to use - and it's free - which, given the current economic situation, is a huge benefit."
In other news, a recent study by IBM found more than 50 per cent of respondents would be happy to swap their internet usage on a PC for a mobile device.
