Google reveals fastest growing search terms of 2008

Google has given a sneak preview of its annual year-end Zeitgeist by releasing a top ten list of the fastest growing search terms in the US during 2008.
'Obama' ranked first off the back of Barack Obama's successful presidential election campaign, followed by '
facebook', 'att', '
iphone' and 'youtube'.
Two more US election-related terms 'fox news' and 'palin' ranked sixth and seventh, with' Beijing 2008', 'david cook' and 'surf the channel' rounding out the top ten.
'
Facebook', 'youtube' and '
iphone' all returned to the list for the second year in a row, while '
myspace' dropped out for the first time since 2005.
Ask.com also revealed its top ten most common queries of 2008 this week, with questions ranging from first-placed "am I pregnant?" to the Top Gear-linked "who is the Stig?" in ninth.
"Where can I get a cheap loan?" and "how do I lose weight" also featured in third and eighth position respectively.
