The major changes observed within Google's search results over the weekend were not intentional and should be fixed in the near future, it has been reported.

According to Search Engine Roundtable, there has been uproar from webmasters over the past few days due to several poor quality websites appearing high up in Google's search rankings.

Matt Cutts, a spokesman for Google, issued a statement on WebmasterWorld in which he explained that the new results were simply a blip and that it should not be long before the situation is dealt with.

"I think this was a short-term issue and things should be back to normal pretty soon (if not already)," he remarked, adding that he does not "consider those rankings indicative of anything coming in the future".

Caroline Bogart of Bogart Computing claimed in a Be Fit NH press release this week that the key to a company getting its website high in Google's search rankings is to incorporate incoming links from trusted sites and content that makes the firm appear as an authority in its sector.ADNFCR-1351-ID-18855683-ADNFCR
