Google Insights for Search can already help advertisers looking to expand keyword lists and provide information on search engine trends - now it has even more to offer.
An announcement on the Official Google Blog has revealed that the tool has a number of new elements that will be able to help firms who are working on search engine optimisation (SEO) strategies and businesses seeking other online facts and figures.
One of the additions is a forecasting feature to cater for queries based on "an extrapolation of the historical trends and search patterns", according to chief economist Hal Varian and Yossi Matias, head of Israel R&D Centre, who posted on the blog.
Moreover, there will be an animated map which has the function of helping users "visualise these changes and trends", as it shows how search interest changes over time in various locations.
Earlier this month, research published by Econsultancy and Clash Media indicated that more than three-quarters of marketers in the UK use SEO in their online lead generation activities.
