Many price comparison websites rely entirely on the internet to drive their business and therefore it is extremely important they are visible in search engines, it has been claimed.
Search engine marketing firm Neutralize made its comments as it announced it is to create a social-media strategy for http://www.confused.com/, designed to boost its ranking in the main search portals.
Website marketing manager Sarah Baldwin said price comparison is an extremely competitive industry but that she has been impressed with search engine optimisation (SEO) expertise offered by Neutralize.
The search agency plans to "roll-out an extensive social media strategy which aims to increase brand awareness throughout social networks and encourage consumer/company dialogue".
According to Neutralize, although SEO requires effort, it has greater benefits than simply driving users to a website through a search engine.
The marketing company claims that that developing a website so that it ranks highly leads to long-term growth in visitors but also creates a better user experience of the website.
