Ethical search engine optimisation (SEO) tactics can result in higher rankings for any organisation, an expert has asserted.

Neeraj Srivastava, of Webexcel Solutions, made his comments to online resource Small Business Informer, noting that firms should never be tempted to try and outwit the search engines as they will eventually detect practices such as link farming and keyword stuffing.

It is important that marketers ensure their websites' content is optimised as well by inserting keywords which relate to the services the organisation offers, he continued.

Furthermore, firms should focus on the information supplied by their website "and make sure that the content provides some unique information to your visitor and not duplicated from elsewhere", Mr Srivastava explained.

It is important to build inbound links, which can be helped by writing articles, he added, noting that providing such content also helps develop a firm's reputation.

There are tools online which allow marketers to assess the suitability and popularity of keywords.

Google offers a keyword-generation tool which helps isolate the phrases most relevant to a website or sector.

It provides this to help marketers who are considering adding pay-per-click adverts to relevant search results.ADNFCR-1351-ID-18607769-ADNFCR
