For search engine optimisation (SEO) strategies to succeed in large businesses comprised of multiple enterprises, a governance system should be put in place.
This is according to iProspect's Chad Godfrey, who comments in a post for Search Engine Land that companies must ensure each individual enterprise's SEO goals are also in line with those of the business as a whole.
To make this happen, he states, a governance system in which all enterprises communicate with each other to ensure the overall company benefits from their individual strategies should be put in place.
Suggesting that businesses develop an SEO committee of sorts, he comments: "This builds SEO into the fabric of the organisation and creates a platform for sharing goals, challenges and strategies."
Meanwhile, each enterprise must be mindful of overall company goals as well as their individual aims.
Writing a recent post for ClickZ, Nurun's Amy Manus suggests that online marketing needs to become more targeted and provide a personalised experience for the user.
