Finding the right SEO firm a 'tough choice'

Businesses can find it difficult to select the best search engine optimisation (SEO) agency for their requirements, it has been claimed.

One good way of assessing the effectiveness of a company is to search for it and see how good it is at boosting its own online ranking, a post by online resource SEO Marketing World has suggested.

However, it warned marketers not to select a company with a bad reputation or one that uses so-called black-hat techniques as search engines will often penalise a website which uses tactics they deem unfair.

"Ideally, SEO strategies and search engine marketing should be customised, because the true experts will know their techniques inside and out," the advice continued.

That means the SEO professional will then apply tactics in an appropriate manner to a person's site, it added.

Online marketing and optimisation resource SEOChat suggests that all firms with websites require some form of ranking-boosting service as search engines are the main tool driving traffic to their sites.
