Firms 'cannot afford to miss SEO'

Businesses cannot afford to "cut corners" on their website search engine optimisation (SEO) strategy, an expert has warned.
Patricia Montes, of the firm
WorldWide Optimize, highlighted that just ranking highly when a user types in the company's name is not enough, as it potentially leaves millions of online consumers who have not heard of the firm unable to find it.
"With a real lack of new traffic there is a lack of new sales which is usually the catalyst that started the new website design project in the first place," she continued.
Since Google is responsible for around 75 per cent of all search traffic, it is important to rank highly but also to offer an enjoyable user experience once the visitor has clicked through to the website, Ms Montes added.
Recently, Paul J Bruemmer, writing for
Marketing Today, stated that firms promoting their products to other businesses must ensure they use search engine marketing tactics as the web is the main place for businesses to research potential purchases.
