Firms 'should consider SEO for recruitment'

Businesses could do more to make use of
search engine optimisation(SEO) on their recruitment and careers-related website pages, it has been suggested.
According to recruitment search marketing firm Sharkstrike, corporate career websites belonging to some of the biggest organisations in the world are failing to make adequate use of
keyword research to attract high-quality candidates looking for roles via search engines.
"Companies are spending too much money on
branding big name job boards and not taking matters into their own hands to create a seamless process of candidates that can find them in Google search," remarked Jason Gorham, chief executive of Sharkstrike.
He added that jobseekers are more likely to conduct searches for job titles or industries rather than specific company names.
Richard Baxter, UK
SEO manager for Cheapflights.co.uk, told
Site Visibility earlier this year that his research methodology for recruitment and other types of
SEO tends to be the same regardless of the content.
However, he stressed that it is important to learn how to categorise different kinds of search types.
