Websites can be a very effective way of boosting a firm's sales but building traffic to the site is vital, an expert has asserted.
John De Groot, managing director of entrepreneur support source
StartupCo, suggested that smaller businesses can benefit hugely from using a website to encourage growth.
It is obviously important for firms which only market themselves through the web to ensure their site it receiving steady traffic, he explained.
However, many other small companies could also see a considerable return on investment by boosting sales through their website, Mr De Groot continued.
"The absolute key is the ability to generate enough traffic to the website to get the best sales end result," he added.
Recently, online agency
Total Marketing Solutions remarked that small and medium-sized enterprises could discover investing in search engine optimisation boosts their website's traffic and presents them with a "real business development opportunity".
It added that optimisation tactics are not prohibitively expensive and can help those firms with limited marketing budgets.
