Pay-per-click (PPC) search marketing can provide a website with instant results and immediately begin generating traffic, an expert has commented.

Manika Batta, writing for online resource PromotionWorld, explained that the marketing tactic allows specific keywords to be chosen, meaning the resulting traffic can be highly targeted.

However, she also suggested that PPC requires an investment with no guarantee of a sale as visitors may click through to a website without then choosing to make a purchase.

It is worth conducting a PPC campaign alongside organic search engine optimisation (SEO) tactics, article marketing endeavours and affiliate marketing, Ms Batta added.

Recently, an article posted on website the Search Engine Connection asserted that one benefit of organic SEO is that it is a long-term marketing strategy, outlasting PPC which ceases when the budget runs out.

It concluded that organic optimisation efforts and PPC "both play key roles in online marketing, yet organic optimisation is the better solution for a long-term, cost-effective marketing campaign".ADNFCR-1351-ID-18560184-ADNFCR
