Businesses looking at attracting visitors to their websites with well-optimised copy need to make sure that whatever they upload is useful to the reader.

This is according to Kevin Gibbons of SEOptimise, who says in a post for Econsultancy that it is important to steer clear of practices such as keyword-stuffing and instead ensure all content is of as high a quality as possible.

Inserting copy that is riddled with keywords might attract visits in the short-term, but is unlikely to drive conversions after the visitor has read the text, he comments.

"Dull or useless content will damage your brand in the eyes of the visitor. Take the time to create quality articles and they'll work much harder for you," Mr Gibbons states.

Margaret Manning of .net magazine recently advised online marketing professionals to keep the interest of those who click through to a landing page from a search engine by building interesting pages.

This content should be tailored to visitors' needs to ensure they do not immediately click away, she said.
