New Browsers? Old SEO!

A whole host of new browsers have been launched as of late - such as Firefox 3, Google Chrome and Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 - and as such, basic search engine optimisation (SEO) techniques are more important than ever.

Such is the assertion of sector commentator David Berkowitz, who makes his comments on web resource MediaPost, stating all of the aforementioned browsers are generally evolving in the same direction.

"All three, for instance, support searching from the address bar, where you normally enter a website URL," he states, noting that all the bars offer suggestions for users as they type.

Therefore, he recommends marketers optimise page titles as each of these browsers rely on them to make suggestions.

Mr Berkowitz notes the opportunity provided here is retention.

"If someone has visited your site before, however they found it, you want to increase the odds that they'll come to you directly rather than search again and potentially check out competitors," he concludes.

Meanwhile, a post by sector commentator Mrudula Kodali on ITWales recently suggested marketers incorporate SEO strategies into their site's video content.ADNFCR-1351-ID-18807349-ADNFCR
