The 2009 Online News Association (ONA) Conference gets underway in San Francisco today (October 1st).

Blogging will be one of the key issues discussed over the course of the three days, with Twitter chief executive officer Evan Williams one of the keynote speakers.

Co-founder of female blog website Blogher Lisa Stone will also be addressing the attendees, which will include website news writers and other journalists.

ONA president Jonathan Dube said: "ONA's conference is where journalism meets technology and this year we're especially looking forward to hearing from two people who are revolutionising the way journalists do their jobs."

Various other speeches and workshops will help complete the online news conference, while the host organisation's internet journalist awards will also be announced.

On Friday a session dubbed Yep, Text Still Matters will analyse how online news should be presented, as well as issues to do with search engine optimisation (SEO).

SEO is a key consideration for businesses looking to make the most of their websites, according to the product manager of hosting service Hostway, Phil Turnbull.
