Online visibility 'key concern for SMBs'

Small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are keen to address their online visibility, according to new research.
Industry insight provider TARGUSinfo reveals that half of SMBs are willing to pay on a regular basis to ensure their site is optimised for their key terms.
Respondent to the survey Kim Golway, vice-president of Cardigan Kitchen and Baths, explains: "I am the marketing department and I am the webmaster.
"So if you can automatically improve my online visibility, help me get more leads from the Web and help me penetrate my market ... bring it on."
The findings follow warnings from search engine optimisation provider Fourleaf that an "all singing, all dancing" website is rendered useless if it cannot be found via search engines.
While the firm notes that not all businesses rely solely on traffic generated by search results, it warns those which do that they could be "losing out" by not targeting such visitors with their content.
