While good content can help a website's search engine optimisation (SEO), poor quality copy can damage its position, an expert suggests.
Industry commentator Neeraj Srivastava, writing for online marketing resource
PromotionWorld, urges businesses to ensure their pages contain unique content.
He argues that it is vital that all copy carried by a corporate site is optimised for search engines and competes with the content of any competitors' web presence.
Furthermore, the relevance of articles and phrases carried by the site dictates its success in search engine results, as if a competitors' page contains more industry-specific phrases and words, they are more likely to score highly, Mr Srivastava adds.
Recently, Jeffrey L Smith, the man behind
SEO Design Solutions, told online resource
My Netrepreneur that businesses should check their website has "solid fundamentals" in place to help it achieve high visibility.
He stated that such basics include regularly updating the pages with fresh information.
