Businesses looking to use their website content to generate traffic can do so by combining three important elements, according to one expert.

Writing for Search Engine Watch, Adam Audette of AudetteMedia says it is possible to guarantee traffic by using good search engine optimisation (SEO) tactics in conjunction with a sound user experience and great content.

He explains the best way to create valuable content that will pull in visitors is by answering their questions, appealing to their emotions and meeting their needs.

Marketers should always remember to put content and the user experience before SEO, Mr Audette advises.

"SEO should be an invisible layer beneath a smart site architecture and fantastic user experience. Good SEO is unseen," he remarks, going on to recommend that SEO is built into the overall business flow so that departments such as PR, web development and marketing are all aware of the tactic.

In another Search Engine Watch column, SearchSlingshot marketing director Jennifer Van Iderstyne recently recommended focusing on creating great content in order to boost the company's credibility and generate trust and authority.
