Orchestrating a successful search engine optimisation(SEO) campaign is becoming more difficult for companies to do, according to one expert.
Eric Enge, president of Stone Temple Consulting, wrote for Search Engine Land that in this more challenging environment, firms which learn how to use social media in their SEO strategies can gain a substantial advantage over their competitors.
"This can bring some immediate benefits in terms of market exposure now and it will bring the significant advantage of improved search engine rankings in the future," he remarked.
Mr Enge claimed to have seen a number of organisations successfully use social networking website Twitter in online marketing campaigns in recent months and stated his belief that social media will have an increasingly large impact on ranking signals in the future.
Amir Lodge of Lowcostdeals.co.uk told TTG Live last month that SEO is one of the chief benefits associated with using websites such as Twitter.
