A website must contain regularly updated, unique and good-quality content if it is to rise in the search engine rankings, a commentator has remarked.
Search engine optimisation (SEO) industry commentator Thomas Pretty made his remarks in an article for the agency BlueCollarSEO, noting that search engines spiders look for sites with extensive information.
Furthermore, articles which are relevant to the website's sector will help SEO by naturally including keywords, he explained.
Regularly supplying information will also help boost rankings as the search engines prioritise constantly updating sources, Mr Pretty continued.
"It shows the search engine spiders that your website is an ongoing work, a quality site that is striving to be a valuable resource," he added.
Earlier this year, industry commentator Jeremy Long Chia Teik suggested in an article for resource GoodInternetMarketing.com that supplying interesting articles leads to an increased number of inbound links which also helps SEO.
He noted that major search engines place considerable emphasis on such links as they suggest the website is useful and popular.
