Search engine optimisation (SEO) must begin by addressing the content of the target website, it has been claimed.

Marc King, chief executive officer of consultancy group Kingsrealm, explains that effective optimisation of website content can have a knock-on effect on other areas of SEO campaigns.

The company suggests that integrating such efforts into the infrastructure of the site further enhances the benefits to be derived.

Mr King says: "The critical first step for any successful internet marketing strategy must include the total optimisation for search engine readiness of the target website.

"Without SEO the internet marketing effort will be minimised to the point of almost total uselessness."

His advice echoes that given by industry commentator Brian Kress recently on online publication BusinessOnTheMound.com.

Mr Kress asserted that entrepreneurs should look to search marketing as a means of increasing their visibility to potential clients.

The addition of a blog or similar content could also be a means of encouraging visitors to post comments to a site, he added.ADNFCR-1351-ID-18501299-ADNFCR
