Search engine optimisation (SEO) is most likely to achieve success on a website which has been built for the purpose, it has been claimed.
Incorporating organic SEO practices into a website built from scratch can maximise the effects of SEO, Julie Batten from the
ClickZ Network explained.
She said that optimising an existing site can be more "frustrating" and less effective than doing so for a website that is being created or re-built.
Ms Batten recommended setting goals for a website's visibility on search engine results, researching keywords carefully and providing copywriters with this information before the content is written.
Companies should also provide the website designers with information on SEO best practices, she advised.
Thedesignbuild.com reports that good-quality content is one of the best ways to increase website visibility and increase the amount of human traffic to a website.
According to the agency, the best way to achieve search engine ranking success is to employ professional copywriters.
"If we're placing as much importance on the content as we do on the design itself then why do so many people pay lots of money for design and then write the content themselves," the site has asked.
Steven Strauss writing on
TheStreet.com, has described SEO as "the magic bullet" for those who want to increase sales through marketing on a tight budget.
