Online marketers should consider using search and email marketing together in order to maximise the potential of their campaigns, it has been suggested.

In a post on Yahoo!'s corporate blog, Abe Mezrich, communications manager at search engine marketing company Didit, states combining the two can be effective in engaging with consumers.

He suggests firms need to use the correct words in an appropriate fashion in order to get a strong response from email communication.

Continuing, Mr Mezrich states this will make customers want to read emails and respond to it and suggests marketers use their best-performing keywords in their messages' subject line and body copy.

He states if certain words, concepts and messages drive users to convert via search, then the same communications should resonate with like-minded shoppers within email.

"So it follows that if you want to learn how to sell to your email customers, you should ask your search customers," the sector commentator concludes.

Meanwhile, the search engine company recently announced the launch of its Yahoo! Web Analytics tool.ADNFCR-1351-ID-18822446-ADNFCR
